How it’s made

The Camper Van
Conversion Process

First Fix

It’s all in the preparation. First, your VW base van will be completely stripped, externally checked, and protected. Inside insulation and sound proofing will then be added to ensure a comfortable ride and cosy camping experience, then pre-wired for your camper’s build and all cutting sealed off with primer ready for fitting.

Whether it be a front elevating, rear elevating, or side elevating roof, this is the next to be fitted. With M1 tested structures our roofs are fitted by qualified technicians and can be colour coded to suit your camper design.

Your camper will then be re-boarded with fresh boards and one-piece flooring, insulated, sound proofed, and carpet lined. Your flooring will then be finished off with your choice of hard wearing altro and fitted curtains will be added. Windows are then fitted to complete stage 1 of your camper vans conversion. To complete a 4-birth campervan layout a choice of roof beds can then be fitted.

Second Fix

Probably the most important choice in your VW Camper Van conversion is the seating and bed. One that has so many options on the market it is a minefield to navigate. We at coast2coast will help you understand your options and fit your chosen bed to M1 standards. No matter how good your bed is, if it’s not fitted correctly it will not be safe.

Once your bed is fitted to M1 safety standards we will then commission your VW Camper Van with your chosen equipment, providing safe and reliable solutions to your electrical, plumbing and heating needs. All independently habitated for your safety.

Our furniture is designed for practicality, safety and durability.  As we design, build, and scribe all our own furniture we believe we can provide maximum choice. We understand that choosing your campervan’s layout to best suit your needs is a challenge and we are prepared to spend the time to help you make the right choice for you. We will then ensure this is built and fitted to the highest standard in your choice of colours and materials.
